“After January 20, 2009 it should be compulsory to pray at all public schools so that God may have mercy on America”
History will record that during the first decade of the 21st century some members of the Democratic Party committed acts of treason against the United States of America by requiring the complete, unconditional and immediate withdrawal of our troops from Iraq in an act that is tantamount to complete surrender. Thereby abandoning the brave young men and women fighting terrorism and enabling our enemies to regroup, fortify and plan attacks against the United States. They voted to lose a war rather than lose an election. How despicable.
Their cowardly politically-motivated attacks on President Bush regarding the management of the war lowered his approval ratings from over 70% to below 30%. Yet the Iraqi war will, one day, be recognized by true Americans as a brilliant preemptive strategy by Bush and will serve to greatly enhance President Bush’s legacy as a Great President. The following are accomplishments of Bush’s strategy in Iraq:
The Americans and allies deposed the ruthless and despotic dictator Saddam Hussein Abd al-Majid al-Tikriti better known as Saddam Hussein. American soldiers crushed his army in only three weeks. Saddam’s barbaric regime, with and without arms of mass destruction, was removed. Mission accomplished.
Within a month or two the free people of Iraq began an unprecedented democratic process of free and self government; it took a few years, through free and open elections and several parliamentarian reconciliations to gain stability. Not perfect yet but, mission accomplished.
Within a few weeks about sixteen US military bases were successfully established in Iraq. Let us pause here for a moment to mull over this Mission accomplishment that makes all others pale in comparison. Iraq is the geographical center of the Muslim world sharing borders with Iran, Syria, Kuwait, Jordan and Saudi Arabia. The establishment of a significant military presence in this region is historic, bold and necessary for the safety of Americans for decades to come. To prove this point let’s listen to Maj. Gen. Elyezer Shkedy, Israel's air force chief appointed to oversee the war against Iran’s nuclear threat, who said, “American forces at Iraq are better capable that Israel to do so.”
In 1941 America declared war on Japan, after Japan killed 2,403 Americans at Pearl Harbor. On 9/11 radical Muslims killed over 3,000 innocent civilians or about 600 more deaths than during the Japanese attack. President Bush immediately destroyed the Taliban and Al-Qaida in Afghanistan which were the main perpetrators of 9/11. Then with a stroke of genius, Bush brought the terrorist war, which was started in this country, to the center of the Muslim world. The American forces are now capable of reaching into the heart of enemy armies in minutes and destroying any possible threats on their soil rather than in America’s cities.
Finally, many blame the poor execution of our military forces for the spread and intense attacks by terrorist insurgents. First and most important blame falls on Turkey because their parliament rejected permission for the 4th Infantry Division to attack Iraq through their borders. Iraqi military and intelligent forces were free to fight a one border war in the north. Also, Iran, Syria and Al-Qaida realized the military strength that Bush brought in their region, and they concentrated their efforts by sending terrorist mercenaries to disrupt the country. Many American soldiers died because of this, but ten times more terrorists perished in their futile effort. But the USA had an ace in the hole; General Petraeus with the surge practically eliminated the terrorist insurgents.
Our next commander-in-chief opposed the surge; he did not believe that it could work. That tells you the low esteem he has for our brave American military forces. Nor did the terrorists have President Bush’s resolve. When Bush was asked by a prominent member of his party to stop the surge and get the army out of Iraq because otherwise they will lose the elections his answer was “You must not understand George W. Bush.”
It is my firm conviction that after January 20, 2009 it should be compulsory to pray in all public Schools and give thanks to President Bush who kept us safe after 9/11. During Obama’s presidency may God have mercy on the American people and the world.
